How to use the Percentage Calculator

Solve common percentage questions without working through the formula by hand. Calculate a percentage of a number, determine what percentage one number is of another, or measure percentage change.

How the calculation works

For X% of Y, multiply Y by X ÷ 100. To find what percent X is of Y, divide X by Y and multiply by 100. Percentage change compares the difference with the starting value.

Example / tip

25% of 200 is 50. If a price rises from 80 to 100, the increase is 25%.
